Course Objectives:

1. To understand the concepts of differential calculus and why they represent a major intellectual achievement.

2. To gain an appreciation for the wide range of applications of calculus.

3. To develop an ability to work with derivatives in solving problems.

4. To get an introduction to the concepts of integral calculus, its applications, and its relation to differential calculus.

5. To gain experience with mathematical reasoning.
